The Last Question

I don’t have news. Maybe later on.

LATER ON: I have decided that this strip may be a metaphor for the start of the Tigers’ season. That’s not a good thing. Perhaps it was subconsciously I made the guy’s hat a Tigers hat, but I’m not happy about it. I’d rather have seen a Yankee fan drowning…at least they don’t have souls. Ok ok. Sorry.

I Know.

I know you guys have been waiting. It’s not that I’ve run out of ideas, I’ve just been really lazy and unproductive recently. But the comics will start back up soon.

Kay? I promise.

Guest Strip!

March 18th, 2008

No, I did one!

It’s up at Land of Nodd right now.  GO SEE!!!

Soon I’m going to have a “GUEST STRIPS” thing up above, as well as a “RANDOM” but that means I’ll probably have to get rid of some stuff.

There Seems to Be A Problem…

March 14th, 2008

With the Facebook Application. It’s only showing the news post from like last weekend. And no new comic. I’ll look into it.

Also there seems to be a problem where I haven’t been drawing comics. Toohoo.

This is how I respond under pressure. (Hey, I wasn’t expecting like 10,000 visits a day until like the end of my first year.)

At this juncture it looks like you’ll get one on Sunday.

Alternate Week Schedule

March 10th, 2008

I’ve decided on something.

Instead of doing updates every MWF and every other Sunday, I’m going to do something else.

On the weeks where a Super Sunday Double is scheduled, I’ll only be updating twice. And these two times (gasp!) will be on Tuesday and Thursday, instead of M, W, or F.

This is partly because I just moved back to school and haven’t had time to do today’s strip yet, and partly because of concerns that with doing 4 comics one week and 3 the next week and 4 the next week again, that I’m going to burn out and start to lack in the idea department. And that’s not something I want to do. I’ve decided it’s best for EHB to do this, and so I’m going to.

Just wanted to let you know.

Also, if you’re not sure what schedule it is in a given week, just keep checking back :D Or go by the Super Sunday Double - if I’ve done one, then the following week will be MWF. Then TRS.

The important thing is there’s still 3 a week. Cool.

******

Also, I want to take a second to talk about the fifty-thousand people that saw my Belly Button comic, all (basically) via StumbleUpon. Out of those fifty-thousand, it’s rational to assume that four or five have decided to follow Empty Headbox. It’s a rational assumption. That strip alone got 8 positive reviews and 3 negatives…and one of the negatives (”Another reminder of why I hate 90% of web comics.”) was from a guy who’d previously rated several hundred webcomics negatively, saying,  “I wish I could burn all the webcomics out there. Except xkcd.” He obviously has very…refined…tastes.

Of the positives, there was, “….”

No, you know what? I’m not going to repost any of the positives. That’s lame. I’m lame for thinking about doing that. Instead, the rest of the negatives:

“HILARIOUS. -.-”

and

“Caps lock does not equal yelling.” (He has a point. It equals typing.)

****

P.S. I do not dislike XKCD. I just, you know, am aware of the fact that it’s the “hip” or “trendy” comic to read. Kind of like how Dinosaur Comics were a year ago. I just don’t think other comics should be put down because they’re not like XKCD in that some of us have to be funny AND draw something. Nowadays, webcomics are for intellectuals, not for artists. Or people who like to laugh.

2008 Web Cartoonist’s Choice Awards

March 9th, 2008

They’re online, and included is the strip I was working on earlier in the week as part of the presentation for “Outstanding Environment Design.” I didn’t really know what that meant.

Here it is:

Reminded me why I hate speech bubbles. And yeah, it really is that small.

Oh, the awards are here and here. Congratulations to everyone who took home…er…won something!
