God Exists, and He's American

Ok, so I went to the bookstore today thinking I'd buy the second Sandman book (the first one was pretty good, and I hear it only gets better), but there was this fat, hairy, bald guy (is that possible? to be hairy and bald?) standing in front of the graphic novels but I ended up picking up a book instead. What book?

I liked Neverwhere, and Gaiman writes Sandman, so I thought I'd take a looksee. Here's a fun link if you're interested in Gaiman: he did a twenty four hour comic that's pretty good. The art's not amazing, but that's why the guy's a writer.

OMG LOL - Like, Three Posts in Two Days!

Hehe. Well, don't get too excited. I'm relaunching my Growing Fiction thing - only this time instead of daily updates it's going to be weekly. A new story a week. So I'll post the first part of a story that will be done on Tuesday...today.

Okay?

It's about the blue men.
Don't ask me why.

Once again, the site is growingfiction.blogspot.com

Compulsive

Hi. I'm Adam. You know, the guy who compulsively DOESN'T update his blog??

So that makes me wonder. Why don't I? Think about that for a moment.

Yeah, I don't know either.

I can't get my microphone to work though.

Orson Scott Card ... My God, I'm Gushing

My dad has an interesting life. He travels all around the United States selling artwork to people. (If you haven't seen any of his work, I just launched version 3.0 of his website this week - new design, new images, there's even an time lapse animation of one of the new paintings he completed for this calendar year. So check it out, bruceholwerda.com. So yeah.

Recently, my father had a show in Madison, Wisconsin, and incidentally Orson Scott Card was there doing a book signing for his new book, Magic Street. (Card wrote one of my favorite science fiction books ever - maybe you've heard of it. It's called Ender's Game. So not only did Orson Scott Card walk through the art show, and not only did he stop in my father's booth and begin talking to him, but he BOUGHT like six prints! And not only did he buy six prints, but he wants to use my father's images for some stories he's writing!

HOW SICK IS THAT?

The worst thing? My father had no idea who this guy was. He treated him like every other guy he met that day.

Mr. Card said, "Maybe you've read one of my books? I write Science Fiction."
My father: "Oh, no. I dont' read as much as I should. My son reads all that kind of stuff though."
Mr. Card: *Chuckles* "He'll know who I am then."

You're damned right I do!

Lastly, I just signed up for Freeipods.com - it seemed like a scam at first but then I read a lot of literature about it and decided to give it a try. You just have to complete an offer and then refer some people, it's worth the trouble.

Check it out here: freeipods.com

Talk to you all later!
Adam
