CRASH

If you want to see one of the earliest candidates for next year's Academy Awards, go see CRASH. Written and directed by Paul Haggis, the man behind the screenplay for Million Dollar Baby, last year's Oscar winner for Best Picture, CRASH is a movie about stereotyping. Main characters include Matt Dillon, Don Cheadle (of Hotel Rwanda fame), Brendan Fraser, Sandra Bullock, and (Luda)Chris Bridges. This movie is intense and real, grit from life on the streets of Los Angeles ringing true through Haggis' masterful direction. I walked out of the movie not knowing what to think, not knowing how I felt other than that I had been touched.

Go see CRASH before it's out of the theaters, and you will too.

From the Lap of Adam Holwerda

Hey all, I'm writing this from the keyboard of my new laptop. Which, might I say, is pretty cool. I'll be able to up my productivity this way, being able to write in bed and such. I'm thinking there's a few things I'll have to buy (a WiFi router, a Firewire card, and an external DVDRW (since this one didn't have one, though I thought it did (which I'm not happy about)).)

I'm going to go download AIM and Firefox now.

...of the Flies

I'm reading Lord of the Flies right now. I'm surprised I haven't read it before. I think it's odd that I don't like even one of the characters. I'm not sympathetic to any of them.

Not even Piggy.
